Iranian Researcher Acquires New Findings in Research on Addiction
Bijan Pirnia is an Iranian researcher who defended his Ph.D dissertation at the Tehran-based University of Science and Culture. He wrote down the findings of his dissertation in a paper and published it at the highly prestigious Asian Journal of Psychiatry.
His findings show that there is a complicated interaction between Traumatic experiences in childhood and the endocrine system in the phenomenon of addiction to Cannabis in adulthood.
These findings led to the design of a new diathesis-stress model in enriched cannabis users, which supports the developmental cascades framework theory and ecological transactional formulation from a psychopathological perspective.
Also, these findings can be a guide for the diagnosis of mental disorders according to trauma records, such as developmental trauma disorder or complex trauma, and finally, the modification of psychiatric nosology regarding cannabis use disorder.
Also, the findings of Pirnia's dissertation has led to the production of another article which is printed in the journal of the Prevent Child Abuse Colorado.
